Protecting your privacy is very important to us. This policy sets out how we collect and process your personal information. It also sets out your rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you.

This policy describes how Mr Charlie’s deals with personal information of individuals that interact with our business – this includes representatives of our suppliers, customers, and users of the Mr Charlie’s website.

In some cases, this may include information that shows who you are and/or is linked to you as a result of your interactions with Mr Charlie’s. This information being on a public forum, regardless to the extent that it may be managed by us, may nevertheless be read, collected and used by other participants of the platform or service, including the platform and service providers themselves. We have no control of the platforms, service providers and the other participants thereof and as such cannot take any responsibility as to the use of your personal information you disclose in this manner.

 

2. Why we collect and process your personal information

 

We process personal information to conduct our business – this includes responding to your inquires, improving our products and how we communicate their benefits and warnings as to their suitability for specific members of the community, communicate with you as requested by you, monitoring access your use of our websites, managing safety and security risks, and complying with our legal obligations.

 

If we do not collect your personal information, it may affect our ability to perform these functions. By giving us your personal information, you consent to your personal information being collected and processed for the purposes described in this policy.

3. Who we share your personal information with

 

We may share your personal information within our corporate group as well as with third parties involved in the running of our business. This may involve sharing information across national borders. We only share your personal information where it is required for the purposes in this policy and in accordance with the Privacy Act.

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is kept secure and protected against unauthorised access or use. We only keep your personal information for as long as we need it to carry out the purposes described in this policy. To the extent the use can be performed with de-identified personal information, it is de-identified in advance of the processing for that use.

You have rights relating to your personal information held by us. In contacting the Information Security Officer, you will be required to provide proof of identity to ensure that personal information is provided only to the correct individuals.

In the event that you are dissatisfied with how we deal with any request or communication about your personal information, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

 

6. Updates to this policy

We will update this policy from time to time where necessary to reflect changes in applicable laws or in our privacy compliance practices. The latest version of this policy will always be available online through the Mr Charlie’s website.
